~The Road to Emmaus~

My sisters and I sing this song almost every Easter. But it never gets old to me, =] I love this song.....

Walking on the Road to Emmaus. They talked about events gone before, and their hearts were heavy then with grief and sadness, for wicked hands had crucified the Lord. Then a stranger came and joined then in their journey, and He asked them for the reason why they mourned. So they told Him of the death of the Master and about the empty tomb of the Lord.

Let me walk that road to Emmaus, let my heart burn within me as He speaks. Let me hear the Scriptures opened and expounded by the One with nail-prints in His hands and feet.

Then beginning with Moses and the Prophets, He reminded them of all that was foretold. With authority He opened up the Scriptures and the mystery of God's grace He did unfold. He told of all the lambs and all the altars. The sacrifices temples, and the priests. The prophecies and types throughout the ages that pointed to the Lamb of Calvary.

Let me walk that road to Emmaus, let my heart burn within me as He speaks. Let me hear the Scriptures opened and expounded by the One with nail-prints in His hands and feet.

They asked Him in to sup with them at evening, still thinking He was just another man. But when He took the bread and blessed and broke it, at last they saw the nail-prints in His hands!

Let me walk that road to Emmaus, let my heart burn within me as He speaks. Let me hear the Scriptures opened and expounded by the One with nail-prints in His hands and feet.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend rejoicing in the Resurrection of our great Savior!

"....a lamp unto my feet..."

Hearing the testimonies of what the Lord was doing in the lives of all the guys while they were all on their Journey was really encouraging! My hope is that they will continue to seek the Lord day by day, never leaving cloud 9 which they all seem to be on right now. ;)

While walking back tonight after dinner, it was really dark out..... I came up to the bridge and the little lamps that are on it seemed to have this glow all around them. It was really pretty! And just this morning I was reading Psalm 119, so when I saw those lamps the Lord brought to my mind verse 105 --"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."

There's just this overwhelming joy and peace that comes over me everytime this occurs. It's one of those unspoken blessings of the heart. =]   God is so good.

Good night everyone, and have an amazing week rejoicing in HIM!
